Best Practices for Italian Genealogy – Case Studies

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to analyze and evaluate evidence, glean information from records, and become better equipped at reconstructing their Italian ancestors’ lives. The presenter will demonstrate best practices in Italian genealogy through use of specific case studies.

Margaret Rose Fortier, is a Board-certified genealogical researcher, writer, and lecturer. Named for her grandmothers and inspired by her mother’s phenomenal memory, she has been researching for 20 years. She specializes in immigrant ancestors in New England. A graduate of Boston College (BS) and Bentley University (MS), she holds a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University. She serves on the board of the Association of Professional Genealogists and is a facilitator for the Certification Discussion Group (CDG). She is eternally grateful that her husband’s French-Canadian Furkey ancestors changed their name back to Fortier.
