The IGG website contains archives of IGG newsletters, as well as POINTers newsletters. These resources are for members only.
The archive pages are managed with Content Views and should only be administered by the webmaster or web developer.
Content Administrators can add new newsletters and manage existing newsletters as needed.
Naming Conventions
To be consistent with existing issues, the file should be named as follows:
IGG: yyyy-mm-IGG-Newsletter.pdf
POINTers: POINTers-Issue-nn-Vol.-nn-No.-n.pdf
If you are unsure of how the naming conventions work, look at a few examples in the Media Library.
Media Files
Each newsletter is a PDF document. To add a newsletter, upload it to the Media Library.
Go to Media > Add New. Select the file from your hard drive and upload. It will then appear in the Media Library.
Title
The title is the primary way each issue can be identified in the archive.
To be consistent with existing issues, the Media file should be titled as follows:
IGG: Volume nn No. n – Month Year
POINTers: POINTers – Issue nn – Vol. nn No. n
If you are unsure of how the naming conventions work, look at a few examples in the Media Library.
Categories
The PDF must be assigned to a category in order to show up on an archive page. Check the newsletter type that corresponds with the issue you’ve uploaded.
Description
Each issue needs a description to help provide context on the archive page. The IGG issues have the contents of the “Inside This Issue” block from the cover typed into the description field. The description displays on the archive page and search results.
Search
Each archive includes a search engine that searches each PDF document in that category. Search results are displayed in the same way as the archive. This is an automated process and each new issue will take some time to index, but it should be available in search results within an hour or two of posting.
